Spoiled

I grew up around kids. I have a big family and a lot of young cousins and nieces. Aside from a few of them they are all pretty obedient. They do what their asked and rarely put up a fight, hardly throw temper tantrums and are relatively smart. When I was little I know i was the same way. I did what my parents asked hardly ever got a temper.
Now when I go out and look around I see and hear kids screaming because they want something but their parents won't buy it. Then just to shut them up their parents give it to them anyway! That is why I think kids are disrespectful, because instead of teaching them they can't have everything, and that life isn't always fair like most of us were taught, their parents just give them what they want so they'll stop crying and leave them alone.
The kids I babysit are the same way. They think they can have everything and if I don't give it to them they scream. The one boy cried for and hour because I didn't stir his macaroni and cheese right, and refused to make an entirly new box just so I can stir it the right way.
They now listen to me more then they listen to their parents.
Do you think this is why kids are how they are? or do you have a different opinion?

  1. Yeah I agree with your opinion, kids just say gimmie gimmie gimmie. Parents these days don't have patience to teach their kids to learn how to earn things by not giving tantrums. Kids learn from their parents so what they see is what they are going to do and think it's okay to do it. Kids don't act this way they just learn from others which is a major problem these days. Parents need to teach their children to act obedient and they wouldn't get into trouble.

  2. I agree, kids want everything and if you continue to give them whatever they want, they'll just ask for more. I see people walking around with their kids kicking on windows, cursing when they don't get their way, etc. and their parents are chatting away or on the phone. Parents need a new way to care for their children and teach them some manners.

  3. This is the main reason why spoiled baby acting teens are the way they are. if you spoil apuppy and let him rip up shoes and piss wherever, hell do it his whole life; the same goes for a child. By spoiling a kid your spoiling them literally.

I know as a kid i got in my course of trouble for disrepect but not to the extreme of this.I know what it was when mom said to pick up that toy you better pick up that toy no if ands or buts!

  5. Kids are a product of their parents, if their parents give them everything they want, they're going to expect people to be like that their whole life. Parents need to teach kids that life isnt always fair and you cant always have everything you want. Eventually spoiled kids are going to have to learn that the hard way.

  6. Wow i totally agree. Like the kids these days are sooo direspectful because of the parents getting lazy when disciplining their kids. I remember back in the day i would get mad beatings for just talking back to my mom. But now adays they can jump off stuff and throw things. shaking my head

  7. I agree also. Children these days have no discipline and get whatever they please. I work at a day care and see children smacking their parents in the face and hittin them just because they cna tget what they want right away. I also believe that some parents are to blame because they just let this kids get away with whatever they want and have no consequences for their actions.
