The feeling you get when there is nothing left to do after a long day of work and you have at least three to four hours where you can just chill out and do what ever you want is one of the best feelings one can get. To be able to not have any responsibilities, for even that short amount of time, is what I wait for everyday.
There are points in my everyday life where I am stripped of these few precious hours of peace. These are the days where I have more than one sporting event or have a tremendous amount of homework that must be finished and if I were to take the time to do them I would be up till two in the morning completing the tasks. The following days are always rough due to the lack of sleep, but the only way for them not to be rough is to take that nap and inevitably miss work that you will have to do at the end of that day.
Soon enough the stress will bog me down so much that it is difficult to get up and do even the easiest of tasks. It will last all the way into the weekend where I can finally have time to myself. Relaxation is, what I believe, the key to a long and happy life. However, what time you put into work will always turn into time that you can relax in the future.

- I very much agree with this, and that there is a constant struggle to attain a sense of leisure ever, let alone within a demanding day. I’ve experienced that school most of all takes so much out of me. Trying to sustain the “American Dream” is challenging and requires a lot of determination and desire in order to prosper and achieve your goals.
ReplyDeleteTeachers always tell us that as teenagers we need sleep. More sleep then we are all getting. They also tell us to be involved in school, participate in sports and clubs and do the mass amount of homework each teacher gives us. If we do all these things when are we suppost to have time for ourself and relax? Sometimes weekends just arn't enough
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way mitch, I wake up at 6, go to school, and don't get home until around 6 because of sports. By that time, I'm so relieved that I can just eat dinner and relax. It's honestly the best feeling in the world to get a shower right after practice, eat, and just lay down.
ReplyDeleteMan I love to relax i treat relaxing time as if I was reciving gold. That to me is the most important part of my day. All that hard work school and then after school i play basketball when i get home i dont feel like doing a thing to i just relax and it makes me feel like a new man.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Meshell. That’s why I can’t wait to graduate high school and live with my parents forever and ever and never have any real responsibilities at all.
